Tuesday 10...
For this Tuesday I am going to do a list of 10 awesome things that I did for David's birthday party. He turned the big 28 this last Sunday and I threw him a Ghostbusters themed birthday party. I planned it all in a week and I am actually really happy with how well it all turned out.
1. Stay Puft Rice Krispies.
One of David's favorite treats and plus they are gluten-free so Micah was able to enjoy them too.
2. Twinkies
If you've seen Ghostbusters you probably remember the quote "That's a BIG twinkie" so I bought 2 boxes of twinkies and was just going to throw them on a plate but David stacked them to form a "big twinkie"
3. Zuul's Deviled Eggs
In the movie there is a part where Dana comes home from grocery shopping and her eggs start popping open and frying on the counter...well, I'm not going to fry eggs for 18 people so I decided to go deviled instead. I always make deviled eggs for family gatherings anyway but I have to say, this was my best batch yet!
4. Slime
I bought 2 boxes of lime jello but then David reminded me that the slime is actually pink in Ghostbusters 2...so peach and lime jello...barf.
5. It's Milla Time!
Miller for the men, green lemonade for the kiddos, and blackberry wine for Rhonda and I. :)
6. Pin the hat on Stay Puft
We needed a game for the kiddos so I drew a picture of Stay Puft and a matching hat. We also made "proton streams" out of those balloon animal balloons (twisted the red, blue and green together) and drew Slimer's face on some green balloons and let the kids chase them around.
7. Have a very slimey birthday...
I made the sign for David and hung it and the streamers up while he was at the store with the kids that morning. Thank goodness I took a picture first because as soon as they got home Micah went crazy and started running through it and accidentally tore them down.
8. She-Puft
The Stay Puft costume I made for Harper. I wanted it to be a little girly so the white I used on her was glittery, I used a neon blue instead of navy, and hot pink instead of red.
9. Slimer cake
I made David's cake the night before and thought it would hold up better in the fridge (it was 3 layers) but it did end up tilting a little bit. But it still turned out yummy!
10. Yummy....
Not gluten-free but we did have something else for Micah.

Tuesday 10...
1. 101 Cookie Cutters
I finally gave in and bought this at TJ Maxx for like $9. I went crazy looking through them and Micah loves to tell me what each shape is.
2. The Real Ghostbusters
David loves the Ghostbusters and already has all the seasons of The Real Ghostbusters on dvd and one day last week Micah asked to watch Slimer and he has been hooked ever since! It's so funny because I actually remember some of the episodes from when I was a kid!

The new one over near the mall is open and it is huge.
There ain't no party like a Liz Lemon party 'cause a Liz Lemon party is mandatory...
One of my favorite shows but David hates it. :(
Spring has sprung...and it's about freaking time.

Bored, so I am doing a "thought provoking" survey.
1… If you were laying on your death bed right now, what would be your biggest regret in life?
I honestly have no regrets because I believe that everything crappy that has happened in my life has all lead up to how happy I am now.
2… Do you give more to the people in your life than is expected of you?
Yes. I'm a mom, it's in my nature.
3… Do you look at other peoples success with envy?
No, because I am happy with my own success. I have 2 wonderful kids and an amazing husband.
4… Do you seek respect or seek to earn respect?
Hmm...I don't know.
5… What are you grateful for?
My family, my husband, my kids, my friends, David's side of the family.
6… Do you complain about non-important things that never matter in a day, week or month from now?
Yes. But I don't let the little things ruin my day.
7… Do you ever try anything substantial enough to create a feeling of fear?
Well I had 2 kids and that was pretty darn scary!
8… Will this year be much different than the last?
Probably.
9… Do you work harder on your job than you work on yourself?
Yes. I always put my kids before myself.
10… Do you care more about what others think of you than what you think of yourself?
Sometimes I do, but I try not to!
11… If you were offered 1 million for 3 years off of your life, would you take it? Is time more important than money?
Well, are the last 3 years of my life going to be when I am really old and not able to care for myself? Because if it is, yes I would choose the money.
12… What makes you different than the majority of people?
I don't know...I like the things I like and I think the way I think...
13… Do you make many mistakes? If so…good for you. If not…why not?
I used to make a lot of mistakes but I have grown from them...so good for me.
14… Is being wealthy about how much money you have in the bank, or is it how much you fully experience life?
When I think of the word wealthy I think money.
15… Do you accept what you know or do you question what you don’t?
I accept what I know. I don't want to spend all my time wondering what will happen and when.
16… Do you believe you are perfect or do you believe in the lie that you are not?
I'm not perfect.
17… Can you achieve anything worthwhile without ever facing your fears?
I think you can.
18… Do you believe that luck just happens, or that luck is created by working hard?
I believe in luck.
19… Do you know who “YOU” are? Do you really think so?
Well when you put it that way I guess I really don't.
20… Do you trust that things will always work out in the end? If not…why? If so…why complain?
Yes.

Finger Park
David was off today so we decided to take the kids to the park. We normally go to Gulley Park but David wanted a place with a basketball court (and I wasn't sure if Gulley had one) so we went down to Finger Park. It's super close to my grandparent's house and we needed to visit them anyway. Well Micah loved it. We all played basketball (well Harper sat in her stroller and watched us play) for like 30 minutes before Micah finally showed interest in the playground. It was an awesome playground but maybe a little too advanced for Micah. He climbed the giant rock and went down the slides that were way too tall. He even did the monkey bars 5 or 6 times (with me holding his waist, but he did hold his own weight!) I forgot to bring my camera so I was a little bummed because it was a lot of fun.
I did get this picture on my phone though.
Micah playing basketball....and I didn't realize how goofy his outfit looked until I saw this picture!
And this picture I stole off the Fayetteville website to show just how awesome the playground was at Finger Park.

Tuesday 10...
1. Count Slobula
2. Betty Crocker Gluten Free
We have had the brownie and yellow cake mix and both were pretty darn good!
3. Floppy Hats
How could you not love these?
4. Disney Music
The soundtrack to our house. We are always listening to Disney music. Micah mainly loves the Randy Newman songs like You Got A Friend In Me and Strange Things.

DAD GUM! DAD GUM! DAD GUM!
Seriously, just go look it up on youtube. It's the best Mater's Tall Tales.
I didn't think I would like the OWN channel but this show is actually pretty amazing.
I can't remember if I have put this on my list before but I love ONF. They have cute kid-sized carts and Micah likes to go shopping for his own gluten free foods like waffles, graham crackers, and even oreos!
David and I are both trying to master the Freddie Mercury "running man" dance from this video.

Sunday Funday?
Today we decided it was a nice day to sit on the porch and blow some bubbles (plus we got some bubbles in our goodie bags yesterday!) So after lunch I took the kids outside and we started blowing bubbles and it was a lot of fun until Micah "tasted" a bubble and before I even knew what was going on he was throwing up all over the porch and the stairs. I am used to cleaning up puke so it was no big deal to me but Micah was very upset that I wouldn't let him stay outside. He cried at the window for a while so finally I asked if he wanted to talk on the phone with Papa. Micah has never really talked on the phone with anyone, he normally just holds the phone and listens and maybe says a few little things. But today Micah actually had a conversation with his Papa! I put it on speaker phone and handed him the phone and my stepdad was asking Micah how he was doing and Micah held his racecar up to the phone and said "See, it's Roary" and "What color? RED!" and "I want to seeeeee you!" I think I heard my stepdad sniffling a bit, it was so sweet! Micah cheered up a lot after that and then it was nap time. Hopefully when he wakes up and David gets home from work we can head back outside for some more fun time.
Harper enjoying watching the bubbles drift away.
Micah trying to blow a bubble...right before one touched his mouth. Ewww.

Belated Tuesday 10
Ugh...I feel pretty stupid that I forgot yesterday was a Tuesday...
1. Wonder Pets!
This is SERIOUS! Micah loves Wonder Pets and loves to sing the theme song. Anytime my phone rings he will yell "The phone! I'll be right there!" and sometimes he will just randomly start yelling "What gonna work?! TEEEEEEEE WORK!"
6. Spring!

2. The Adkins
We had them over for dinner last night so I think they deserve to go on our list. Robert and Rhonda are our best friends. Robert has been David's best friend since they were like 8 and Rhonda and I instantly became friends as soon as David and I first started dating. They have 2 amazing kids, Ethan and Emma, and although their kids are a lot older than mine they have always gotten along and Emma loves to play with Micah. We couldn't ask for better friends!
3. Up
We have watched Up twice this week already and Micah just loves it. I am actually thinking of doing an Up theme for Harper's 1st birthday party.
4. Udi's Gluten Free
They have the best gluten free white bread and they also have amazing blueberry muffins and (Micah's fave) double chocolate muffins! No gritty nastiness like the other brands!
I still have all my old Paddington Bear books, which were actually my mom's from when she was a kid and Harper has a Paddington rattle that is one of her favorite toys.
6. Spring!
7. Karaoke Revolution
I don't like video games at all but this is one that I will actually play. Micah always sings along with me and it's a lot of fun. I am hoping to find SingStar Disney before Micah's birthday so we can set it up for the kids to play at his party.
I remember having lots of DK Publishing "My First" books about cats, dogs, and all sorts of animals when I was a kid and for Christmas last year my mom got Micah a "My First Animal Encyclopedia" and he loves it! Last week he started asking about bugs and this book has several pages just about bugs with lots of pictures.

9. The Dung Beetle.
When we were learning about bugs, we came across the dung beetle. Micah asked if it was a ball, I told him that this was a dung beetle and that is a ball of dung. He looked very confused so I told him that dung is poop. Now everytime we get to this page Micah points out the dung beetle and refers to him as the "poo-poo diaper bug"...yet another reason why I love toddlers.

Tuesday 10
1. The Children's Therapy Team in Fayetteville.
Since Micah's Celiac's diagnosis we had been trying to get him involved in speech therapy to be sure that he is 100% where he needs to be by the time he starts preschool. So finally his doctor wrote us a referral here and today we went in for his evaluation and it was amazing. Miss Carmen (his future Speech Therapist) was so sweet and won Micah over quickly. For the first 15 minutes he did everything she asked of him but after that he got tired, curled up in HER lap and snuggled her. She loved it and snuggled him back and finished the questionnaire with me. I couldn't believe how much Micah liked her (he is weird with strangers!) Plus afterwards she said she would call me with the results once he was scored and she actually called me back 2 hours later! She said he qualifies and we are just waiting on the insurance to okay it (which they will) and we will start seeing her weekly. When I told Micah he got excited because he wants to go play in the ballpit again! Haha.
2. Sundresses
Warm weather means I can wear my sundresses and light cardigans soon. Yay!

When everyone else is in bed, the dishes and laundry are done, and all is quiet, there is nothing I enjoy more than curling up on the couch and watching reruns of Sex and the City. It makes my night!
4. Jimmy Johnson
